Ways to Help

Donations

Home is where the VNA & Hospice of Cooley Dickinson has cared for thousands of patients for over 100 years. We service our patients in every city and town in Hampshire County as well as several towns in Franklin County.

Because illness and disability often strike without warning, any one of us could find ourselves needing the skilled care of a VNA clinician. The VNA & Hospice of Cooley Dickinson’s job is to help ease the transition from hospital to home, manage chronic illness, or recover from surgery or a stroke. The VNA staff work closely with patients and their families or caregivers to help them achieve their maximum level of functioning and to return to as full and rich a life as possible in the familiar surroundings of home. Your donations to the VNA help us continue to provide this quality care.

Volunteering

The Hospice Program of the VNA & Hospice of Cooley Dickinson offers training for individuals interested in becoming a hospice volunteer. Hospice volunteers work directly with dying patients and their families to provide companionship and support.

Individuals are trained in the Hospice philosophy, communication skills, psychosocial and spiritual dynamics of death and dying, a personal death awareness assessment, understanding the bereavement process, and the duties, responsibilities and opportunities for volunteers.

For more information on volunteering for hospice, please call the hospice office of the VNA & Hospice of Cooley Dickinson at 582-5354
