Nursing
Skilled nursing includes services such as disease assessment,
medication management, wound care and teaching patients and families to
care for themselves.
Visting nurses work closely with
patients' physicians to ensure positive outcomes and continuity of care.
We specifically help control the impact of acute and chronic illnesses
such as cancer, heart failure, diabetes, HIV/AIDS, asthma, as well as
reduce any wound complications. Medically-skilled nurses provide
teaching and the administration of medication intravenously for pain
management and antibiotic treatment.
We pride ourselves on our ability to teach patients and their families self-care strategies that will help improve quality of life; we encourage and promote patient independence so that emergency room visits and costly hospitalizations can be avoided; we develop nursing protocols and programs in the specialty areas of each program; and we provide ongoing education to nurses and other caregivers about the most current care standards.
